I joined the St. Bernard School Administration in 2021, but my journey in education began in 2004 after graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I spent the early part of my career as an Intervention Specialist at Colerain High School (3 years), and then I transitioned to Mason Intermediate School for six more years. During that time, I participated on several curricula, programming, staff development, and data initiatives at the building and district levels, which led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Dayton. My path shifted away from the typical educational setting in 2013 when I was given the opportunity to apply my background in education in a new way at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), where I served as a liaison between the family, medical team, and school team to help school teams understand how to best meet the diverse needs of children who experience chronic and mental health conditions. My experience at CCHMC inspired me to return to school to learn new ways to meet the needs of the ever-growing population of diverse learners. In 2018, I earned a Doctoral degree in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati. Shortly after finishing my doctorate, I became the manager of School Services in Psychiatry at CCHMC, where I co-developed programming and managed staff in four School Services’ programs within the Division of Psychiatry. In 2021, God called me to the most rewarding position I’ve held thus far, Assistant Principal of St. Bernard! I absolutely love being able to not only help students reach their academic potential, but also share my knowledge and love of Jesus with students on a daily basis. It is a true honor and blessing to serve the St. Bernard School Community—a community that my children are a part of, and the school of my Parish!
